Gavelmate helps Facebook Page owners monitor comments on their own Facebook Live videos in real time. When you connect a Facebook Page, you configure keywords (e.g. "sold") to watch for. While a live video is running, the app saves the comments on it and flags the ones matching your keywords, so you can see both the full conversation and who took an action (like claiming an item) during your live show.
pages_read_user_content permission) — this includes the comment text, the commenter's name and Facebook user ID (when Facebook provides it), and the time the comment was posted. Comments matching one of your configured keywords are additionally flagged as a claim (e.g. "sold"/"pass"). If you choose to generate an item list for a show, we retrieve that show's own recorded video from Facebook (only after it has ended) and send it to our transcription provider, AssemblyAI, to identify item numbers, prices, and descriptions you mentioned during the broadcast. This only happens when you manually request it for a specific show — nothing is processed automatically. The resulting transcript and extracted items are stored so you can view them in the app.
Data is used solely to provide the core features of this app: showing you your Page's live video comments and which of them matched your configured keywords, so you can act on them (e.g. fulfilling an order for a customer who commented "sold"). We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
You can disconnect a Facebook Page at any time, which stops any further comment collection for that Page.
Data obtained from Facebook (Page information and comments) is used only within this app to provide the features described above, in accordance with Meta Platform Terms. We do not use Facebook Platform data for any purpose outside this app's core functionality.
